7a MOSTRA [3o SIMPOSIO] novembre 2009 - gennaio 2010
Impart to the Product / Part of the Process? or Quest, Phantom, Vestigium
Juxtaposing the physical products of various forms of artistic process and methodology with photographic documentation thereof, this simposio exhibit underscores the potential intrigue of artistic techniques made manifest while interrogating concomitant notions of significance, value and vestige.
Corresponding simposio reading assignments: "Why are There Several Arts and Not Just One" and "The Vestige of Art," both extracted from The Muses, a philosophical text by Jean-Luc Nancy. PDFs of the complete simposio packet, featuring a show description, the reading assignment and the artists' statements, are available free upon request.
